Subject:Sudden realization of what wouldn't happen

Music:Sir Edward Elgar - Pomp and Circumstance.
To be honest, I never really thought it'd come. Graduation always seemed like it would never happen. It was always so far away. But now, here we are, on the edge of the adult world, about to graduate. And I still have things that I want to do in high school. I need more time...

I want to spend another year here with Kyna. I want another physics class with her. Of all my senior year memories, the static friction lab we did together is one of the most outstanding, even if I didn't realize it at the time. We only have a couple classes left...

I want to see everyone, talk to everyone, like I do every day on my rounds to classes. So many interesting people. Entertaining people. Most I'll never see or hear of again.

I want to take more classes like our Biology AP class. Taught by one of the greatest teachers on campus. I want more whole-period in-class discussions of real world problems. I'll miss teachers who actually know who you are as a person.

I guess I love high school more than I thought I do. Leaving it is like starting a whole new life.

...I just want another day in physics.

End.

Hmmm... it's been quite a while since I've written. Here's my theory on it: the happier you are, the less frequently you write in your journal. Which is good, because you spend less time mulling over how much life sucks and more time out enjoying it (with the people you love, even). With that, I think it goes without saying that these are very happy times. The fifth six weeks just ended, too, so I have very little to worry about.

Then there's the sweet, the beautiful, Kyna. Nothing else tops spending time with her. I love you, sweetheart. :)

More updating to come... after an insane 8 hour day at work.

Mood: ecstatic.

Summed up in one word: Kyna. Now here's your day-by-day breakdown.

Saturday, March 13
Kyna called (I think... maybe I called her), and I told her that I was too sick to go shopping with her and Liz. I changed my mind in 5 minutes, though, so we did a little shopping around Bandera Pointe, and I went to work later.

Sunday, March 14
Went out to lunch to Jim's with an old friend of mine. Went to work, then went to Taco Cabana for dinner with Kyna. It really poured.

Monday, March 15
Went over to Kyna's for a movie and some TV viewing, as well as a house tour. Willy Wonka for life.

Tuesday, March 16
This has to be the best day I've had... ever. Kyna and I planned on going tubing, but the weather (and a few other things) didn't turn out, so instead we went to Guadalupe State Park. That was a blast (except for finding out I couldn't swim...). We came back to town, shopped around a bit and went out to dinner and a movie. My shirt had gotten wet at the park, so I borrowed her dry, spare shirt. Even though it was very small, I still think I looked pretty damn sexy in it.

Wednesday, March 17
I had picked up a shift, so I ended up working with a bunch of people I'd never seen or worked with before. That was interesting. Came home, jacked around, went out and bought GTA3 and GTA Vice City. I'm now addicted.

Thursday, March 18
Tina's 19th birthday. Happy Birthday! Went to lunch at JITB with Kyna after she got off work, then hung out a bit at BN and her house before I had to go to work. Work sucks when it interferes with the fun stuff (and now I just realized I picked up that shift, too... curses).

Friday, March 19
Went with Chris to Fiesta Texas. Spent 5 hours there, 3 of which were probably spent waiting to ride the 3 roller coasters we rode. One was spent waiting in line for my season pass card ($60... poor Mr. Wallet took a heavy hit, but it's all good). Left the park, had some pizza, came back, got my picture taken by Kyna. :)

I think I covered everything. If I didn't, that's what comments are for. This had to be the most awesome spring break I've ever had. Thanks to all who made it awesome... you know who you are. :)

In the past few days, I've come across quite a bit of advice from teachers, and thought of my own advice as well. Here's a brief overview of what I've discovered.

Things have a way of working out.

This is now officially my personal motto. No matter how bad things may seem to get, things will work out in the end. I feel like I've abused this one over the past few years by taking advantage of the leniency of teachers. After Mrs. Bishop's talk with us, I think I've realized that turning things in late isn't really fair to the teachers.

Too much of a good thing is bad.

Whatever it is, if you're getting too much of it, it's bad. Too much money leads to corruption, too much food will make you sick (same with water), too many vitamins, too much of drugs, the list goes on and on. The negative effects of a good thing gone bad probably aren't apparent until you screw up, though.

If you don't acknowledge your problems, you'll never change.

I have Mrs. Bishop to thank for this one. In calling the whole left side of the Biology AP class jackasses, I think she really hit home in a lot of us, especially those (like myself) who procrastinate, turn work in late, or never do it to begin with. Understanding your problems is the first step to changing for the better. If you never recognize your issues, you'll never give yourself a chance to grow.

The older you get, the more you realize you don't know as much as you thought you did. You can't possibly know it all, and that is where faith comes in.

While not totally advice, I thought this one, courtesy of Mr. Davern, was interesting. As Oscar Wilde said, "The old believe everything, the middle-aged suspect everything, the young know everything." It seems to me that people become more religious with time, and this is why. Science, facts and knowledge can only carry you so far through life. Lots of scientists, even with their expansive knowledge of life, have faith.

However idealistic this may seem, I'm going to try to follow these and see where they take me. Before you start arguing (especially on the last one), have an open mind, please. Fun stuff.
